Partnerships

Thanks for participating and blogging about your experiences! Throughout this week we hope you begin to understand the daily challenges our partners around the world are facing every day. Through our Ridge Point Partners, we have made some GREAT progress and have impacted lives from Pullman, MI to Zambia. However, there is sooooo much more work to be done at each of our partner sites. Our goal during this brief two week campaign is to raise $156,000 to give to empower our partners to have an even greater impact in the areas they serve. Please be praying about how God wants you to participate in this campaign and play a role in impacting eternities around the globe!

With your help, here is what we are hoping to accomplish at each of our sites.

RP48/Take Hold - $18,000

RP48 Students have been serving the marginalized in downtown Grand Rapids. Recently, a partnership has started with Take Hold, a small church with a similar vision and passion. They currently meet in an old garage that is desperately in need of repair.

LOL funds will provide

• $8,000- construction supplies
• $4,000- furniture
• $6,000- food for Sunday gatherings

70x7 - $6,500

Working through the local church, 70x7 is helping

ex-offenders reintegrate back into their communities, the work place and their families. Healthy, intact families are a vital part of successful re-entry.

LOL funds will provide

• $6,500- monthly social gatherings for mentors and reuniting families

People Helping People - $32,000

People Helping People(PHP) has been actively serving Pullman residents with housing needs. Relationships are beginning to bring about a sense of spiritual renewal. There is so much more to be done.

LOL funds will provide

• $10,000 home repair supplies
• $6,000 utility assistance
• $7,000 winter coats/personal needs
• $9,000 outreach gatherings

VR Tech - $12,000

Ridge Point supports VR Tech High School as support at risk students to succeed academically and socially. Caring and affirming relationships are helping the students reach their potential and leading to questions about the Church.

LOL funds will provide

• $5,500 college application fees/ scholarships
• $2,500 summer camps
• $1,000 graduation gifts
• $3,000 basic school supplies

Mosaic - $12,000

Mosaic is committed to fixing the huge, state-wide problem of children lacking “Forever Homes”. Continued encouragement and training is needed for parents who are integrating these children into THEIR families.

LOL funds will provide

• $3,500 parent/ child social gatherings
• $1,500 camp scholarships
• $1,500 “welcome home” packets
• $1,500 “Safe Families” start up costs
• $2,000 adoption fund

Belize - $5,000

Ridge Point is in the early stages of launching a partnership with Shalom Church, a rapidly growing church, located in Belize. Ministry space is needed to expand outreach to the island youth.

LOL funds will provide

• $5000 refurbish space for youth

Honduras - $26,000

Ridge Point has made a HUGE impact this year in bringing safe drinking water to a rural community in Honduras. Training key education and church leaders will continue to bring about positive change.

LOL funds will provide

• $12,500 equipment/ supplies for local school
• $13,500 leadership training

Dominican Republic - $20,000

Ridge Point has directly improved the quality of life for our friends in the Dominican Republic. Safe drinking water, shelter and basic education programs bring glimpses for a brighter future but there is much more work to be done.

LOL funds will provide

• $10,000 complete new classrooms
• $5,000 desks and books
• $5,000 playground equipment

Zambia - $25,000

Tremendous progress has been made in training and equipping the local church to address local needs in Zambia. However the drastic effects poverty and ill- health leave many Zambian children, orphaned and alone. The local church is responding to the calls for help, but they need our help.

• $7,700 Care kits, mosquito nets, agriculture gardens
• $17,300 uniforms, school fees, feeding programs for students
