Van Raalte Tech, an alternative education school in Holland, is dedicated to empowering at-risk high school students to be academically and socially successful. Ridge Point partners with the school, mentoring students as they explore interests and hobbies and learn life skills. As Ridge Pointers step into the worlds of these at-risk youth, God is renewing a greater sense of purpose in their hearts, as well as in the hearts of the students whom they are getting to know.

Teen Dad’s Club
The Director at VR Tech has suggested that a support and discussion group for teen dads would go a long way with some of her students. They have tons of resources for moms, but the dads get the short and of the stick and are often blamed for many of the main issues. He want to help them step up to their role as fathers and be equipped to handle the unique issues of being a teen dad.
Carrere Readiness Seminars on Fridays
VR Tech would like to build a program on Fridays that involves speakers about job readiness, work place etiquette, and how to get and keep a job. If you are interested in being a part of this, or if you have any ideas, please let us know!

Headphone Repair / Soldering
Students complete all of their course work on computers with interactive audio programs. We have over 20 pairs of headphones that need wires soldered for reattachment and many that could use preventative maintenance to reinforce weak wiring. Can you help meet this need?
Homeless Students: Please Pray!
A Holland Public teacher informed us that last year the district worked with over 300 students who came to school every day from "homeless" situations. Already this year they have identified 48 students who do not have homes. Different programs and initiative are seeking to address this, but there is not just one response that will solve this problem. Please pray for these children and their families! If you feel led to respond to this need in a specific way, please contact us.
